Guru Bashing - New Affiliate Move - Igore The Hype

I don’t know if this has been attempted before but I haven’t seen it anywhere. Since my last post about affiliate reviews i’ve had some time to think about the best way to approach this.

One of my main problems was finding the time to review enough products to keep everyone happy. The main aim of this is to give people an opportunity to ignore the hype buy a product based on a full review from someone who has used the product themselves. Hence my new idea which will soon be bought to you buy IgnoreTheHype.com.

These won’t be any old reviews. They will be top quality guides informing potential buyers of good AND bad points of the product. They will look and feel professional and the review will be based on a knowledge rather than empty promises.

So how am I going to offer this? Simple - I’m going to get you in on it to…

I will create a high traffic site at IgnoreTheHype.com and let affiliate marketers submit reviews for products they have bought. In return they can leave their affiliate link in tact and keep 100% profit for any sales made.

These reviews will scrutinised by me and will not be posted unless they meet my strict criteria. I will give all readers the opportunity to subscribe by email and be informed when new reviews are posted.

As I said before this hasn’t been done yet so i’d appreciate any ideas, comments, or even if you simply want to be put on the shortlist as an affiliate marketer or a reader.

It’s time we had a way of ignoring guru hype and find out if these products are really worth the money.

Building A Brand - Affiliate, Adsense, Advice And More…

Wow - what a week. I had my stag party at the weekend which was great but now it’s time to get back to work. So many projects on the go - but on the up side i’ve got a load of things done too.

As I mentioned before i’m concentrating on affiliate products at the moment but I already have a network of adsense site and of course my blog. So I decided it was time to start building a brand. So here’s the low down on what’s coming from me in the next few weeks / months.

1) Some new sites in the making which should benefit all of my readers. AdsenseFortress.com This will be a complete guide to Adsense from the ground up and will cover just about every aspect of Adsense you can think of.

2) IgnoreTheHype.com - I’m fed up with getting emails every ten minutes for the latest money making product so it’s time to start putting these things to the test. I have already reviewed a few products but these will now have their own site and every month i’ll be reviewing more products so you don’t have to waste your money.

3) My real brand building efforts start here. Shortly my name “JohnReimann” will become my brand and you will be able to follow my progress, get advice (and learn with me) on all areas of Internet Marketing on my brand new site. You will have the option to subscribe to my email list and i’ll make sure it’s worth your while. Apart from bribing you with freebies i’ll never send emails every 10 minutes for the latest product and only write when I have something worthwhile to say.

Thanks for sticking with me, I hope you’ll be happy with the results.

And don’t forget, if you do have any questions feel free to email me at admin@articlesandproducts.com.

Thanks guys.

Boosting Your Budget With Affiliate Products

We’ve taken a long look at Adsense and after a while it can start to feel a little tedious so let’s take a break without stopping work. It’s often important to add a small change in routine to keep productive.

So I thought the best way of doing this is very simple, and could add to your adsense earnings by around 10%, perhaps more. Affiliate products are everywhere. Chances are, if you’ve bought something on the net tha part of the cash you handed over went to an affiliate.

By promoting products that are related to the topic of your site, you not only add value, (as people have an avenue for a solution) but you can earn high percentage commissions if you do it right. First of all sign up with Clickbank. If you haven’t heard of CB they are the most popular site on the net for digital products. Anything that’s downloadable can be bought here from ebooks and reports, to software. The great thing is that vendors often higher very high commisssions on these products (usually over 50%).

Here’s what to do…

Let’s suppose your site is about dog training. Login to your Clickbank account and hit the “marketplace tab” In the search box type in “dog”. You will now be presented with around 5 pages of results including dog training guides, pet food programs etc etc. - You can now sort these results by popularity, conversion rate, gravity and more. Rather than choosing the highest payout I like to choose the ones that convert best.

Take alook at the product and make sure it is relevant to your topic (NOTE: the more relevant the better it will convert your visitors). Now click on create hoplink and enter your ClickbankID. Just paste the link into your site and you’re done. Clickbank will track where their vistors come from and will know if you sent a buyer. They will then pay you accordingly every 2 weeks. You can view transactions in your login area.

Keep an eye out because a lot of programs will have extra affiliate tools you can use such as banner ads, images, and more.

At a later stage we will look at CB in more detail but for now this is all you need to know.

How to get started With Adsense - Advice To A Friend

Hi All, A friend of mine just asked me about what I do and how to get into it. Although I have covered this before in detail those posts are archived now so I though i’d just post my reply to him here:

————————————————————————————————————————-

First of all - Adsense is a numbers game. You won’t earn big bucks with only 4-5 sites. The more sites you have the more  you will earn.

But, where you can earn good money is when you sell a site. A site is worth 8-10 x it’s monthly revenue. So if you have a site earning an average of $2 per day you can then sell it for a good profit.

$2 x 30 (days)

x 8 months

= $480

The idea is then to use this money to build more sites and so on.

There are 3 main things you need in order to get your website earning money.

Unique content

All the sites I make (for adense) consist of articles. These must be unique (i.e not found anywhere else on the web) for you to rank in the Search engines.

There are a number of ways to get unique content (articles):

The best way is to write them yourself. It’s free and you get exactly what you want. But this is also time consuming.

The next best way is to outsource them (pay somebody else to write them for you) this costs $6-$10 per article and each site requires 8-10 articles.

Another way is to buy PLR (Private Label Rights) articles. These are really cheap, you can buy dozens for less than $10. The problem with these is that hundreds of other people will be using them so to make them any good you will have to edit them to make them unique.

The last way is to use a service like ContentFX. This basically takes a PLR article and spins a new one from it using software.

Example, If the original sentence reads “There are many ways to train your dog to sit, lay down, fetch the paper and your slippers”

The software would change the wording to read something like “There are lots of ways to teach your pet dog to sit, lie down, grab your newspaper and get your slippers”

Word of warning - If you start looking around you will see lots of “content spinners” for sale really cheap. Don’t buy any of them! they’re a waste of money.

Keyword Research

This is really important. The idea is to find key phrases that people search for but don’t have a lot of competition. For example if you type the phrase “dog training” (with quotes) in google you will see there are 11,300,000  results. But if you type “dog training for labrador” you will find only 2 results. So if we knew people were searching google using that phrase it would be a good one to target.

There are a number of tools available to find out this information. Some are free, some aren’t, and some are much easier to use than others.

But basically, once you have chosen your topic you would find 8-10 good keyphrases and create a page for each one on your website.

LINKS

The third (and perhaps most important) thing you need to get your website to the top of the search engines is GOOD QUALITY LINKS. I won’t go into too much detail here but a good quality link is one that comes from a website or blog that is relevant to your topic. Example, if your website is about dog training, then you might get links from websites or blogs that are about pet food and supplies, breeders, pet health etc. Don’t know if you know about Google Pagerank or not but if the website has a higher pagerank and links to you it will pass some of that pagerank on to your site. The higher the pagerank, the higher google rates your site.

Another thing to note here is link text. If I link to your site using the text “dog training for labradors” it is much better than just www.yoursite.com because it is telling Google what your site is about.

You can buy a 1000 links for less than $20 but they are crappy links sourced from anywhere and will do your site more harm than good.

One way to get good links is to give unique articles to article directories. These will be used by other web-publishers and in return they must keep a link to your site from theirs.

Other ways are to get involved with blogs about your topic. Start posting on them and add a link in some of your posts.

As you can probably tell this is all REALLY time consuming but it is possible to do it without spending money.

The membership I’m with pretty much includes all of this.

1) They have a team of writers that are trained to write articles optimised for search engines.

2) They have a keywords research tool that will not only give you topics but will pretty much find the best keywords within that topic.

3) They have a blog network that allows you to write blog posts and have them automatically submitted to hundreds of different blogs. Or you can pay somebody to write these as well.

4) They have a step-by-step blueprint to follow.

What’s more the site building is automatic and will leave no footprints. (If you have no idea what i’m talking about here then don’t worry for now).

Obviously if you write your own content you will only have to pay for web hosting ($5 per month) and domain names ($9 each).

It’s not a get rich quick scheme and it can be slow and time-consuming at times. Also not every website will take off. But the ones that do will more than make up for it.

The first 6 months is pretty hard (and is when most people quit) but then it gets easier.

If you want to know more about membership I have a review site at www.superapprenticereviewed.com.

If you want to give it ago but the above is out of your budget then give me a shout and i’ll see what I can come up with. Whatever it is it will mean grafting a good few hours a week on your PC.

Results On ContentFX - Is it Worth The Money?

Hello again and thanks for the questions on ContentFX.

Ok, well first of all let’s look at what you get for your money.

1. Article Generator - I’ll start here because this is what your really joining for. The articles are all very good quality and all read very well, I won’t dispute that. They also WILL pass in the search engines as being unique, so you won’t be hit witth the duplicate content penalty.

BUT - they do have their limitations. I would not use them on my own SEO sites as you would need to edit them for your own targetted keywords, and personally I consider  this too time consuming. I would rather use the outsourcing service provided by Super Apprentice.

However - They do have their uses. You can use them for a number of things.

  1. Promoting Your sites by submitting to article directories: Note - if submitting to really high quality directories I would add an introduction and conclusion, and possibly a paragraph in the middle of the article. I edited one article like this for submission to Ezinearticles (The daddy article site) and it was accepted straight away.
  2. You could use them to to keep blogs fresh.
  3. You could also use them for article syndication on the ContentFX article network.

As a ContentFX member you are given a script that allows you to create your own article directory and let it become part of a network where other members content will be submitted. This means that you directory is constantly updated with unique content with little or no work on your part. If you promote this a little you will have a good strong site that should build some PR and could become a valuable resource for linking. Just as an example you could sell links on the homepage or link to your own sites. Of course the other thing you can do is group similar articles together to create Ebooks.

So what else do you receive as a member? - First, you get a Duplicate content checker so you can check the % uniqueness of each article you’ve spun. Second you get a blog script which is very similar to the article directory script and work in the same way.

Other useful tools included

  • RSS feed blaster - submit your rss feeds across the web
  • Niche finder - Helps to find profitable niches using resources like Amazon, DMOZ etc.
  • PDF generator - Helps you create Ebooks etc from the articles provided
  • Blog Search - Finds on-topic blogs to post your content to

One thing the team at ContentFX are very good at is providing clear instructions. There are loads of helpful resources as well as instructional videos on how to perform each task, from generating content to setting up your own blog.

So in conclusion - In my opinion this won’t solve all of your Unique content issues because I don’t believe any program can do that. BUT this is as close as your going to get to good, unique, and useable content on an automated basis. I will be staying as a member.

If you are on a limited budget and trying to reach your first $1000 online then I would rather you focussed your efforts on Super Apprentice as it offers a step-by-step blueprint, and if you follow this you can’t go wrong.

But if you can spare the cash and actually make time (and use your imagination) to use the content to it’s full potential then yes it’s definately worth joining.

Just one more thing worth noting. I need to speak to the guys at ContentFX because it is possible that you could run into legal issues if you later want to sell a site with this content on. Will get back to you on this though..

Hope this helps in your decision.

Build Revenue And Duplicate Results

Today I want to share with you the importance of statistics.

Stats are important in all types of business but i’m going to show you how to apply them to your Adsense websites. First of all I recommend you purchase Site Super Tracker. It’s $67 but you can put it on an unlimited number of websites and it gives you some fantastic stats. You will see that is not an affiliate link so this is a personal unbiased recommendation. Anyway, if that’s too rich for you then you can still make use of your stats using the data from your host. Hopefully you have Cpanel but if not, just find the stats page for your chosen site.

When you have a site that is earning well there are two things you should be doing. First of all keep promoting it. I would suggest submitting 5 more articles to www.ezinearticles.com and 5 to some of the better article directories.

Now here’s how you use your stats. Check out your top 10 keywords that are bringing in visitors to your site consistently, If you have S.S.T then you can take this one step further and see which are the top ten keywords generating adclicks. What many people would do here is to build new pages for that websites using those keywords.

What I suggest you do is build a whole new website based on those top 10 keywords. By doing this you will have a new websites that has a much better chance of doing well because you have already proven it can. However extensive your keyword research is in the beginning, it can only take you so far, and no information is better than your own personal statistics for building revenue.

You can apply this strategy to just about all areas of internet marketing but we’ll look at those another time.

ContentFX - To Be Or Not To Be?

That is the question… (sorry couldn’t resist).

I have voiced my opinion before on scraped content and article spinners and I still have the same view, stay away from them. But I am now looking at the next generation of content creation. It is unique content. It does read well and make sense, but is it effective? Let’s find out

You may or may not heard of ContentFX. It was formerly known as iContentRobot but the team split up and went their seperate ways. ContentFX is an article membership service that enables you to get unique articles by hitting a button.  How does this differ from all the other spinners out there? Let me explain…

Generally and article spinner will change your article by finding different meanings for the words within it.  This sounds great in principle but when you try it yourself you will see it turns your article into utter rubbish.

Example

Content is king but creating enough unique content without blowing your budget can be a real pain

Run this sentence through an article spinner and you are likely to get something like this.

happy is king but creating enough individual happy without blowing your finance can be a real ache

So yes it’s a completely unique sentence but is complete garbage and provides no quality to the reader whatsoever. The only way to make spinners work is to spend hours with them and if you going to do this you may as well write a new article.

So what’s different this time. ContentFX uses variables. So if we take the above sentence again and write it using variables it would be something like this.

Content is {king/paramount/everything/the most important online asset} but {finding/creating} enough {unique content/content that ius fresh and unique} without {blowing your budget/spending all your money/having to pay out a fortune} can be a {real pain/total nightmare}.

So everything in { } becomes a variable and is seperated by the /. Each time the article is generated the software will randomly use one of these variables meaning that each time you generate a new article you end up with unique content that reads well and makes sense.

This is not the first softwrae of it’s kind. Jetspinner have had a similar program for a while but the problem is that you have to rite an article in the above fashion yourself which takes a loooong time, (i’ve tried). What ContentFX have done is built up a stock of articles covering hundreds of niches so you are always likely to find an article about your niche. They have also adde other features such as blog creation service that automatically updates with this new found content, and each member gets an article directory which is kept up-to-date because all the other members articles get submitted to your directory.

I would call this a grey hat strategy. It’s not really offering value to the search engines but it does give the visitor unique content that has reader value. Would I recommend it? NOT YET.

I have only recommend 3-4 services on my blog and have ALWAYS used them myself to make sure they really are worth investing in. This is why I will be doing some testing with the software first before I make a decision on whether or not you should invest. As always I will be totally open with my results and show you how I have used the program and if it is worth the time and money.

So to finish, ContentFX sounds great but I would be happier if you held on to your credit card for a while and let me test it for you.

Moving On To Affiliate Income.

So we’ve done Adsense and by now you should have a reasonable idea of how to get a site created, indexed and generating a little income. The beaty of this is once you know the basics you can simply rinse and repeat. Just a quick plug here again - Make this so much easier and join Super Apprentice.

Anyway, Affiliate income. I have chosen my topic and in all honesty it wasn’t in the usual way. What you should do is have a look on somewhere like Clickbank and see what products are available for your chosen niche. Check out the payout (don’t go with anything less than $10 per sale) and see how well they convert, look at the gravity. Another sneaky thing you can do here do a search in Google for the product and look at the adverts appearing for that product. Note which ones are affiliate links and monitor them over a couple of weeks. If they are still there after that time then the odds are they are making money. No-one in their right mind will leave an Adsense campaign up and pay per click if it’s not turning a profit.

So my chosen niche is Parrot Training, why? I have a parrot called Jester. He is a Blue-Fronted Amazon and a pain in the a**. He bites everyone except me (even me sometimes), he screams, he poops on me, he chews anything that isn’t metal. I’ve had him for years and I love him but I decided to get something done. I did a quick search on Google and found birdtricks.com. The site is a classic pitch from a clever Internet Marketer but the fact is I handed over my credit card even though I knew how the sales pitch works in the IM world. What did this tell me?

Either that I was stupid for falling for it (we’ll see) or that birdtricks was offering a solution to a common problem. Parrot behaviour is an issue for thousands of owners and not everyone is able to hire a specialist to visit their home every week. This site offers a DVD training set and audio course for a reasonable price and as an owner I know that anyone in my shoes would jump at the chance to own this information. Anyway, long story short, I found there was an affiliate program that offers 50% commission on each sale.

So my intention here is to build a site about parrot behaviour initially. Although SEO will feature into this I am going to approach it slightly differently and also incorperate some PPC advertising to bring some quick traffic to my site. As well as keeping the site updated with my parrots progress I will add video’s of my parrot doing all the things he shouldn’t to sites such as Youtube and Squidoo. Some of these are funny (ever known a parrot to have his own plate at dinner time and whose favourite dinner is Spaghetti Bolognaise?) and should generate a little interest.

This will take some time as I have to fit it in with my other projects but this is the basic outline of my plan. Just one word of warning, be VERY careful before using PPC (Pay Per Click) to drive traffic to your site. It can prove VERY expensive if you don’t know what you are doing.

 Over and Out.

Project Niche Domination - The Next Stage

“When you first start out it’s not always too important to understand why you are doing things, just be sure that you are doing them.” (quote from my mentor). What this really means is that sometimes the actions you are taking now may not seem to have any effect or you may not realise any benefit in doing them. But, when you look at the big picture and think of the future of your project then it starts to make sense.

I have already proved to you that with the system I use (which just became a whole lot easier but that’s for another day) - I can take a set of niche keywords and generate an income with them. I even gave you screenshots of the stats.

What I want to do now is take that ability to the next level. I want you to look at this blog like a course. Subscribe to the RSS feed so you know when there is new information available. Here’s what where going to do….

1) - Build a brand new website and generate traffic.

2) - Aim at getting repeat visitors in a number of ways.

3) - Start a forum and interact with the members

3) - Leverage the above to create a “paid” membership site, offering something within that niche that will appeal to all.

4) - Create an opt-in email list of your customers and generate extra income.

After this we could carry on still. It could lead to Ebook sales, affiliate commissions, and even our own product creation. People are far more willing to buy from you if you have already proven yourself to be trustworthy and an authority on the topic.

This isn’t something i’ve pre-prepared. I’m going to be doing this along with you, If you want to join me and compare or discuss results then please feel free. In the next post we’ll look at what makes a good niche, not just good keywords.
