Make Your Own Website Search Engine Hungry…

As time goes on, you will see that there are two phrases which sound very similar but are not to be confused. When you make your own website, you can make it ’search engine friendly’ or you can make it (what I like to call) ’search engine hungry’, which in the SEO world means Search Engine Optimized. If your site is search engine friendly then this basically means that when you make your own website you will have included the meta tags, header tags, and perhaps site maps and a robots.txt. If that last sentence went straight over your head then forget I said it, FOR NOW…. We’ll get the basics under our belt first, but if you want your website to stand out you will need to keep coming back to Articles And Products and learn the above, and more.

So, if you’re now thinking you need all that to make your own website search engine friendly then what the hell do you have to do to make it search engine hungry? You’ll find the answers in these next tips.

Tip 3: Web site Optimzation.
This is a huge subject and one which is ever-changing so it’s not possible to fit everything into a paragraph but in summary, Optimizing your website for search engines is all about taking your SE friendly website and getting it to the next level. You do this first of all by ensuring that your content is really relevant to your well chosen keywords. You will also need to include your keywords (and variations of them) within your header tags. Don’t just use a H1 tag here, Continue throughout with an H2, H3 etc. The next big thing is internal linking. Design your site and it’s content so that pages point to other relevant pages within it. Make sure that your pages aren’t too many clicks away from your homepage. And now for the BIGGY…  Link Text.

1) name your web-page after your keyword
2) When you create a link to an inside page, create it using the targeted keywords for that page. For example, let’s assume you have an info’ site about parrots and called it myparrotsite.com, and one of your inside pages is about amazon parrots.

From your homepage you could have a link to an internal page like this:

<a href=”article12345.html”>article12345</a> - Displayed as Article12345

Or you could immediately tell the visitor and the SE’s exactly what your page is about by linking with your keywords like this.
<a href=”Amazon_Parrots.html” mce_href=”Amazon_Parrots.html”>Amazon Parrots</a> - Displayed as Amazon Parrots

The same method applies when you get other sites to link to yours. Where possible get links with keyword targeted link text rather than just the name of your website/page.

O.K people, i’ve run out of time for now but I’ll continue this in my next post and then we’ll start looking at something a little more interesting. In the mean time, take some tutorials with your website creator and try to make your own website (just a couple of sample pages to get the feel of it) there’s no need to go buying a domain name just yet. Many people in the IM world favour Dreamweaver and i’m one of them. But, it’s not cheap and you can use just about anything.

Quality Sites And Avoiding Duplicate Content.

Ok, I said we were gonna start with Adsense, so over the next few days we’ll look at a few need-to-know fundamentals and then we’ll get right to business. You will soon realise that I’m never going to offer you a magic pill that makes it all easy. If you want to buy into the next hyped up dream then look elsewhere my friend. I’m not even giving you groundbreaking info that nobody else can offer. I’m simply offering a simple way of understanding how to create legitimate sites that will stand the test of time that will appeal to those of you who are just starting out.  Anyway, without further ado, I present my Top Five Tips to Earning With Adsense, We’re going to look at the first two right now, and follow up tomorrow.

Tip Number 1: Don’t Try And Trick Google

Too many people spend too much time trying to fool Google and other search engines into sending free traffic. Although there are certain things you will need to do (SEO), the most important in this day and age is to provide quality UNIQUE content that visitors will want to see. If visitors like your site, then so will Google (as long as you know how to prove your worthy).

Tip Number 2: Avoid The Duplicate Content Penalty.

Not so long ago, (even in 2006) you could simply by a load of PLR (Private Label Rights, to be looked at later) content, build a website, and point some well-chosen links to your pages. It’s a sad fact that there are thousands of people still wasting their time doing this and wondering what’s going wrong. In fact, there are still gurus encouraging this type of behaviour and trying to sell crappy tools that re-write your PLR articles automatically in order to fool Google. Google has declared war on dupe content; hence their “Duplicate Content Penalty“. Try going down this road and you will see your pages drop faster than a kid with a bar of laxative chocolate.

The Best Place To Start With Your Internet Business.

Hello, and welcome to Articles and Products. On here you will find regular honest updates on tools, software, and services I use to add to my Internet Marketing strategy, as well as learn from my past experiences of what works; and what doesn’t. Of course it’s important to know that with Internet marketing there are some concepts that will never change, whilst others may work today and fail tommorrow.

Internet marketing can be extremely rewarding but it can also be very frustatrating. So many of us (including myself) fall vitim to the very clever and convincing sales pages that force us to believe we will become rich if we buy these product. However, all of these sales will have (or should have) a disclaimer which will basically let you know that they don’t garauntee results. Surprise surprise.

You should be treating your Internet business as just that. A business. Regardless of wether you want to be the next .com millionaire, or your just treating it as a hobby, the fundementals remain the same. We will look at this in more detail later on.

There are many areas of Internet Marketing and all involve a steep learning curve and a great deal of research to get get right. It makes sense to never put all your eggs in one basket, but also remember that if you spread yourself too thin you will lose hope before you achieve your goals.

Personally, I favour Adsense as a good beginners way of making money online. By joining the Google Adsense program you can easily display advertisements on your website(s) that are relevant to your topic and will earn you money each time a visitor clicks on an ad’. In my opinion, earning with adsense revenue is all about your websites placement within the search engines. Most people faor the Google Placement as the one that will be the most reqarding. This will involve learning SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) which is all about creating websites that will rank will in the SE’s (Search Engines) and ensuring that you earn top dollar for the advertisements that will appear on your website(s). Again, we will go into more detail on this later on. For now I am simply outlining the basics.

In the next few posts we will concentrate on on website creation and promotion with SEO in mind. You will learn how to choose the topics for your websites, various forms of content, and how to promote your website in order to gain traffic. All of this can be done without spending one cent, but I wouldn’t advise it. This is one reason I have chosen to start with learning Adsense. It is (in my  opinion) the least expensive area to start learning and earning. Also, once you have mastered the basics you will have a good footing with all other areas of IM’ing (Internet Marketing).

By visiting this blog regularly you will not only be given access to many of the tools, information, and services required absolutely free, but you will also be shown the ones that you shouldn’t waste your time and money on. Any service or tool I display on this blog will have been fully tested for effectiveness and I will NEVER push a product just to make a sale!

So for now, think Adsense. If you already know how to create a website then great. We can build on that. If you don’t, no worries, I will give you the option of learning how, or show you tools you can use that won’t require you to write one line of code.
